Yes great grind, but too far ite of tine.

My son and I spent a few days in the East Midlands last month - Stayed in Mansfield for the One Day Cup Final - first time I have seen Worcs win one. We visited Doncaster's ground - very impressive from outside - and liked the athletics stadium - lots going on there.

Pleased Worcester won - we thought we were heading for the final but Hampshire had other ideas! I live 20 minutes walk from the `new` stadium - it only holds 15,000 which is plenty big enough for us. Our record attendance at Belle Vue was 37,000 - good job people were a lot thinner in those days!

I never got to Belle Vue (lovely name). I remember reading many years ago that it was the largest pitch in the League, or was it the widest?

Belle Vue is the name of the suburb opposite the race course. I think the ground was the largest by area - it was built on an old ash pit which meant it drained superbly.
Very rarely was a game called off due to bad weather. Alice Jeffrey and Peter Docherty were probably our best ever players - Charlie Williams also played for us !

I am getting fed up (literally) with food cans etc. telling me the suggested number of servings contained therein.

I have just had a small pot of yoghurt and was advised, "We suggest this pot contains one serving". What? I have never thought of sharing my yoghurt with someone else.

I see what you mean. I have just checked what I had for lunch. My can of "Big soup" apparently contained 2 servings. I opened a new packet of breadsticks. I ate 2 and there are 20 left, so 22 per packet, and yet it tells me that it contains 20 servings. How am I supposed to divide 22 breadsticks into 20 portions.

Half a can of soup and 1.1 breadsticks is not much of a lunch.

Coincidentally, a Puffed Wheat eater all my life, I noticed for the first time last week that '5 servings' is written on the packet. I don't know when that started. I certainly take over a week to get through a packet so either I am undereating or the manufacturer is trying to increase profits.

It's one of the few cereals with no sugar, but I sprinkled white sugar on it for many years. Nowadays I just add fruit, pumpkin and sunflower seeds and oatbran. I remember the old Quaker packets describing the production process for the wheat grains under the heading 'Shot from guns!'. In my area only Sainsbury's sell it and I worry that it will be discontinued completely.

Thanks for the info on Puffed Wheat - I have never heard of it. I used to eat Shredded Wheat though. Hope Sainsbury continue to sell it for you, I notice Tesco do, but you might not have one. Well done for avoiding sugar.

Thats no lunch for you, but I suppose with all the fried breakfasts you eat, you have to cut down. I think you should stick (!) to 1 breadstick, and so eke the packet out to 22 portions. Why dont you go to the market cafe and ask Cassie if she serves a whole can, or half. I dont suppose they do breadsticks.

Surprised at your Tesco selling Puffed Wheat. Perhaps it's a sensible northern thing like no black skin on fish (and chips). Are you sure it's not the sickly sweet Sugar Puffs?

I certainly do have a Tesco but look:
