Grunger

I think I know what you mean, but how do you make bones look like furniture?

Grunger, Jigjag, is this another word that Chambers has got wrong? The definition of 'age' includes 'to determine the age of'.

I haven't had a moan for ages, so here's a double helping...

1. Wrestled stronghold for dictator (6).
2. Broadcast example of Irish folk leaving behind for Paris (8)

Neither work for me!

I suppose you could argue that "date the bones" sounds odd too, if you take "date" to mean "go out with"!

Wasn’t the second clue “…leaving London behind for Paris” ?

Thanks, Jono, yes, it was - sorry! I'd scribbled it down (on the back of an envelope) and missed that word out when I came on here.

In the Sharpe films, Sergeant Hakeswill (played by Pete Postlethwaite) says both "make no bones about it Sharpie" and "I'll make no bones about it".
I wonder which is correct?

Grunger, thanks.

1 Fought - yes, it really sounds like (for dictator) Fort, stronghold.

Swarbrules, thanks - and yes, that sounds incredibly like Derry Air....
