Chambers is even more wrong than usual!
If you Google antler/horn you will get any number of explanations of why they are different.

Do Chambers have it wrong?

They are there to list words, not to judge them. If a word is in common usage, albeit incorrectly, then are they not duty bound to include it?

That being said, I would still baulk at the incorrect use of refute and less being included.

Yes, it really irritates me that Chambers is "descriptive". I wish they would be more prepared to add "incorrectly".

I posted this on the Big Dave website but I might as well mention it here too. It's regarding a clue from a DT toughie:

The answer is GODIVA. But I think historic (gone down in history) is the word needed here, not historical (concerned with history).
