smithsax - I would be amazed if there was a trap. I noted 'each way' - But 5 types are straightforward and the 6th filled itself in. If there was a method for type 6.
1) 'In one set all answers ...jumbled' would be superfluous
2) I'm sure somebody on the site would have fathomed it and enlightened
us...

This puzzle was a tour de force so well done to the setter. But I think the misprints in the definitions in one set was a complication too many; there was already enough going on and the word the correct letters gave didn't add very much.

Having just spent well over a day convincing myself that one of my answers had to be wrong, I suddenly remembered that not all entries are entered the right way up and easily solved a problem that was threatening to send me nuts. Since then, I've cracked the end game and highlighted five of the six type names in the grid. I have one more to find and I've got a feeling my last unsolved clue might provide the answer. It's 29D - and I can't make head nor tail of it.

I also cannot for the life of me figure out how heavyweight pig (with a letter changed?) ends up as what I am pretty sure has to be the answer.

Oh, and this was always my most hated subject!

Ignore the 29D query - just solved it. I was thinking it was in the anagrammed group and that's what threw me...

Thanks, Crates! As with so many of the clues in this crossword, it seems so obvious when you finally get it.

Hello Suzannahj and others

I am still a few laps (or rounds?) behind. I may have made a mess in the SE corner. Does 36 across begin with an S? If so what on earth is 33 down ( and where is the misprint?). I am facing a similar problem with 29 down -"Border force to go". Any hints appreciated.

Mrs Seal has left the sandbank to visit the pups so I have acres of time and am determined to preserve. Thanks to all.

36 begins with an S. 33D is anagrammised...misprint in fifth word. 29D is entered upwards and it is a double def.

I’ve completed the grid but have drawn a blank in identifying the six type names in 25 cells and what they apply to in 6 cells. Also can’t get the 2 surnames from the 13 circled cells. A hint on the length of each surname would be appreciated.
