Hi Samovar,
A word for trump around L+ Sop reversed. Cutter's stand not Custer's stand

Exalt hidden.

def lookout as a noun.

Your letters are correct for 4th entry but it starts with the O and it's a misprint clue.

Hi Samovar

It’s not ineptitude. This is a tough puzzle. Also we all have to tackle something like this for the first time.

Trump clue- misprint CUTTER’S Stand

Toot is trump. Obscure definition as in a trumpet blast. That contains a letter for liberal and a 3 letter word for a concession in reverse.

Exalt is a normal clue. The answer is actually hidden in the clue. Definition is exalt.

Roused- normal clue. Look out as in a guard is definition. Sent is roused to ecstasy in wordplay.

Your letters are correct but the first e is not part of it.

Good luck with the rest of it.

I've managed to correct my error-strewn grid this morning and now have one gap the 'Hoary bumpkin' clue. Any hint would be appreciated. I have the speaker and the source but I'll leave completing the endgame until my addled brain has recovered I think!

Planks - the letter change gives shot, which is put (unlike a golf ball)

Thanks woodlouse, I hadn't spotted the obscure 17C definition. This puzzle is certainly a toughie.

Hi s_pugh

My final grid has applied the change to all of Region A.

Region B has been erased completely.
