Hello, Elle!
I think the clue stinks.
The walk along the Tay is a good one.
Often you can see the seals and dolphins in the river.
They chase the salmon upstream.
Good views of Fife across the river, too.
I did not realise that Suffolk had a coastline.
You seem to have the best of both worlds in Bromley.
Easy access to the city, and not far from the Kent countryside.
I am going to watch the Cardiff race, too, and Mo.
Not sure what else is on.
There was a big bike race in Belgium today. E3 Harlebeke.
I was cheering Cancellara (this is his last year) but his bike broke and he lost a lot of time and used up a lot of energy getting back.
A Team Sky rider won.

We have seen seals and dolphins in the sea when walking near Portland Bill in Dorset.
But it a rare occurrence for us.
How lovely for you that you can do this on a regular basis!
Yes, you do know that Suffolk has a coastline!
Remember that my husband and I, plus assorted members of the family, usually stay in Pakefield every November?
And I spend much of my time walking along the beach with the dog?
(This is where I met that guy with the metal detector - the chap who found a William IV gold coin in the sand.
The guy with whom I "didn't " go to the rock concert ???!!! )
Lowestoft beaches are beautiful - they won a Blue Flag award.
Yes, we have easy access to both town and country from Bromley - so in that sense are very fortunate.
But I should have liked to live a little further out had I the choice years back.
I wouldn't want a permanent move now though.....we have family living near by - and good friends and neighbours.
I hope that Mo will win tomorrow!

I know Lowestoft is on the coast, but would not know it is in Suffolk. I associate Suffolk with Newmarket.

Yes, it is good to see the dolphins.
The Tay ones are related to a family in the Moray Firth, apparently.
And, one of our ospreys has returned from Africa.
Lassie, she is called.
I know, that's a dog's name!
Her nest is in the Dunkeld area.
Her mate has not turned up yet.

A fine day at the moment, but I believe we are forecast rain from lunchtime.
Very mild though.
Portland Bill is on the Isle of Portland, south of Weymouth in Dorset.
I hope! (as you know, Geography is not one of my strong subjects!)
A "bill" is a jutting promontory, according to Chambers! but yes, it is a headland and there is a lighthouse there.
It is a very good viewing point, especially for dolphins.
Are these the same ospreys threatened by eviction at the time of the "party in the park"?
So how do you know that this one is "Lassie" - is she tagged?
(It is almost as bad calling a bird by a dog's name, as one of my friends calling her cat "Fido"!)
I shall take a look at the GK crossword now, and take the dog out in a couple of hours....must be back though for 1pm for the Athletics programmes.

It is fell dreich here.
No, this is a different osprey.
Lassie took over Lady's nest when Lady did not return from Africa.
Lady had returned to her nest for around 25 years.
She had raised in excess of 50 chicks at Loch o' the Lowes, and was a very old Lady indeed.
Lassie's mate is, appropriately enough, called Laddie.
He is not back yet.
I think they are all identified in some way.
When they leave for Africa they are tracked down through England, South through Europe, and on to Africa.
There are webcams set up at some nesting sites.
There are ospreys in Northern England, now, I understand, so it is a great success story!

Malone, that is a good clue!
Not before time that The Times got their definitions right!
