Helle, Elle!
I like the sound of the pub in Surrey!
"Eat less, move more" is not my phrase, Elle!
I spotted it somewhere, once upon a time, and it stuck.
Very simple though, and says it all!
But the plan is under way!
I like your old King.
I would need a couple of spelling attempts at it though.
I remember reading about an old king who was entombed in a pyramid. There were various items with him.
One was a container of honey and it was still edible after thousands of years.
I found that remarkable!
Eve and team have now won 6 consecutive games in Canada at the curling and I cannot find it televised anywhere.
Disappointing!

Hi, Rusty!
I wonder whether the cold weather is responsible for us eating more?
I never used to have lunch - other than some fruit and yoghurt - but during the very cold spells that we have been having, I have definitely been eating more!
(And yes, it has resulted in my gaining a couple of pounds in weight!)
I shall endeavour to follow your maxim - even if not an "original" - and eat less, do more!
I read in a magazine that a good way to lose weight is to have a dog, and follow the dog in its actions.......as mine is a "runner", I somehow cannot see myself running three or four miles very morning!
(and certainly not at the speed that she goes!)
I shall continue with my more modest walks! (maybe walk a little further each day?)
Having said this........ guess what, I am of course , out for lunch again tomorrow....................!
Not sure yet where we are going.........

Hello, Elle.
Eating less will lose weight.
Not so sure that exercise is a big help.
Good for your heart and lungs etc though.
BP goes up in Winter, lowers in Summer.
Walking gives you a "feel good" lift and that is good.
I have given up fruit yogurts and fruit juice.
Both saturated with sugar.
Sugar is bad for me.
The new motto is "eat less, move more!"

Hi, Rusty!
Ah, but I eat fresh fruit and natural low-fat yoghurt - that is all right, isn't it?
No sugar in low-fat yoghurt.....or is there?
I don't take additional sugar in anything! I hate sweet things!
I didn't know that about blood pressure...that it goes up in Winter , and is lower in Summer?
But I suppose that is logical when you think about it - the cold will make your blood vessels narrow.
My weight is still under 8 stones, so I don't really have a problem - but psychologically I feel better that little bit lighter!
I shall definitely "eat less, move more"!
(although I am more enthusiastic about the moving more.........than I am about the eating less!
I'm not prepared to stop going out for lunch on occasion!)

Hello, Elle!
BP is higher in Winter, lower in Summer.
Lower in morning,
Higher in afternoon and evening.
Your diet is fine!
I find food confusing, as to what contains salt and sugar and fat that I do not know of?
Think all fruit contains sugar.
I have heard of gluten but have not a clue what it is.
And are corn flakes fibre or not?
Life used to be so simple!
I am going to eat a wee bit less and walk a bit more and see what my nurse makes of that.
If there is no improvement when I see her, I shall change the subject to granddaughter clocks and divert her!
May get away with it?
I take no sugar, but put a Sweetex in my coffee.
And put salt only in my porridge and nothing else.
So, I am not too bad!
I have ASDA fat free yogurt and it contains 6% sugar.
How's that?

Hi, Rusty!
It all sounds good!
What you are eating is no doubt very healthy by and large.
You are quite right to limit your sugar intake - at our age (!) we are liable to the onset of diabetes, or so I believe?
But you have just had all your blood tests results back and all was fine, so need for worry there.
Yes, cornflakes are fibre.
Fibre intake reduces the risk of heart disease, diabetes, obesity and certain types of cancer.
So it is a very important part of our diet.
"UGH!" to the idea of sugar or substitute in coffee!
I drink my coffee black and strong with no sweetening!
I love the idea of granddaughter clocks acting as a diversionary tactic!

Good morning, Elle!
I really tried to take coffee without sugar, but no!
So, I tried Sweetex and that is me now!
Wonder if Camp coffee is still sold?
Have not came across it in a long time.
It is not too bad a morning here.
Had a quick look at Times crossword and there is one of my pet hates clued.
"Indian with opinions only partially presented" (4)
Best make a start to "moving more".
Will walk the indirect route to ASDA!

Hi rusty

I have a bottle of Camp coffee in my cupboard as I use it to flavour cakes, or I used to. I think it is sold on an aisle other than tea and coffee? Maybe with flavourings.
Have to make a birthday cake now, which will have photo of a Harley on top. This is somehow printed onto a thin layer of icing. Getting it onto the cake is tricky, you have to freeze it first and then work very fast.
Cold, grey day

Good morning, Rosalind!
That is interesting regarding Camp coffee.
I shall have a wee look today.
You are obviously a very talented cake-maker!
Best of luck with that!
Talking of freezing and working fast.
I saw a television programme not long ago about underground railways.
When they were constructing the Paris system, the land around and under the Seine was like liquid mud. Tunneling through it was impossible. Then the engineers decided to freeze the ground and then tunnel through it under the river, and it worked!
They shored up the tunnel as they were drilling through the frozen ground.
Very clever, I thought!

Good morning, Rusty!
A fine day here - a little chillier than of late.
A very pleasant walk though.
How was the "scenic route" to Asda?
I don't like clues where the answer is "hidden " either! I am not too sure about "Hopi" but think it is correct?
I may have to leave my crosswords till later today. A friend is coming round for coffee, before we go out to lunch, so she should be here in half an hour or so - and I have yet to get changed out of my dog- walking gear.
I read what you said about freezing the ground in order to tunnel.
I believe that pipes are laid underground and refrigerants passed through to freeze the earth?
But how is the soil kept in a frozen state? presumably it would have to remain frozen "solid"?
Do you know how this works?
(or will I need to put it on my list to "research" later?)
Have you got a nice day ? What are you planning?
