Good morning, Elle!
Fine day here.
I like "Snowbird", too.
No reason at all why you should know Hank or Bobby.
There are/were a multitude of country singers.
I like one or two.
Slim Whitman was an old favourite of mine, (I'll have "Rose Marie" stuck in my head now!) and in the modern era, Dwight Yoakam, and Faith Hill.
I was never a big fan of country music but some of it appealed to me.
Not been out yet.

Hi, Rusty!
Oh dear.... now you have set me off with a variety of earworms all vying for attention!
I've been singing "Rose Marie"!
Dwight Yoakim......."Suspicious Minds" is the one I most remember? and "Honky Tonk Man"?
(Wasn't there also a wrestler called the Honky Tonk Man (it's not a sport I follow, so I could well have that wrong?)
I don't think I know Faith Hill - for which especial song is she well known?
The sun is now beginning to show its face........
But we shall wait a while before going out.......
I shall do the crosswords!

Hello, Elle!
I am not clued up on wrestlers!
Faith Hill? Well, I like a lot of her stuff and I like her as a person.
"It Matters To Me", and "Mississippi Gir"l being favourites.
Faith is married to singer Tim McGraw and they have done duets.
She appeals to me, you know, because she was adopted as a little girl, and now she is a well known philanthropist.
She was very hands on in the Hurricane Katrina disaster, driving trucks in the convoys bringing food and shelter to the homeless, as well as giving lots of money.
She has raised and donated millions to several charitable causes.
Faith is the real deal.
Dwight is great! Makes me chuckle!
Have a look on YouTube.
Dwight singing "Streets of Bakersfield" with Buck Owens.
Very entertaining!

Morning Elle and Rusty,

Not too good weather here - it rained overnight and now it's grey and a bit windy; typical Good Friday weather they say !

On the subject of Easter eggs: They can be associated with the religious aspect of Easter, and symbolize the Resurrection of Jesus Christ; In some countries, they are also emptied and the shell then symbolize the empty tomb of Jesus.

I am half Armenian (from my father's side) and I remember that there was always plenty hard boiled eggs on the table for Easter Lunch, all painted red, symbolizing the blood of Christ.
In the Armenian church calendar, Easter is more important than Christmas - it's the 'rebirth' of Christ.

Just in case you are interested !

Hi, Rusty!
I seem to have some big gaps in my musical knowledge!
No, despite your filling in some background, Faith Hill remains a name I do not recognize.
She sounds to be a worthy person though, as well as a briliant singer, doing a lot of good in her life.
I don't know any of her songs.
I watched Youtube (which for reason I am always tempted to call "Utube"!) and saw Dwight singing a duet with Buck Owens - again another name I didn't know!
I have come across that song "Streets of Bakersfield" relatively recently - I wonder where.........and why?
I cannot remember .....
The sun is shining brightly - the forecast was correct (if a little delayed!)
So we shall be going for a walk shortly.......
How about you?
Any plans for the day?

Hello, Pigale!
You have just caught me, as we are about to go out!
It is glorious here now - I wish I could pass you a bit of our sunshine!
That is very interesting what you say about Easter eggs, because when I "researched" that, I found that they were supposedly nothing to do with the religious aspect of Easter, but originated much earlier, before Christianity, when Easter was considered to be a pagan festival.
And I have never heard of the empty eggshell symbolising Jesus' empty tomb.
You have now given me another "project"!
I shall look into all this additional information when I return!
Thank you for sharing it with us!

Hello, Elle!
Been a fine day here!
I have not been up to much but definitely "moved more".
Wonder where you heard Bakersfield?
I am just about to attempt the crossword.
Hope it is a good one!

Rusty, Elle, Pigale, Chris...anyone and everyone...

Some of you may have seen this clue, from the current issue of the Spectator -

Rose with weapon, we're told (6).

I'll have to think about that one, malone. I assume "rose" is the definition, but that still leaves several possibilities!
