Thanks for that Rog. I accept your parsing for 14ac and will live with your explanation of 10ac and 27ac as being what was meant, though I don't like them much.

Fully agree with comments about 19d.
Wonder if anyone could tell me in which accent the two words sound the same as I have never come across it and they sound very different in all the pronunciations that I have heard.
I think that setters often come up with some very dubious homophones.

Finished unusually early, and, unusually, without resorting to CrosswordSolver, dictionary, thesaurus or forum. Didn't understañd parsing of 19d or 2d before coming here. I think I pronounce 19d, as a noun, the same way as the "stock" word. (My accent? Grew up in Surrey with Scottish and Manchester parents but lived in Leeds and now NW Lancashire).

Still don't see how to parse letters 1, 6 and 7 of 12d: I have a definition and a turned game but ... ?

Agree re relative ease, but struggling to parse 13a. I guess the first two letters refer to "party", but how does the rest work please?

Hi Pam, those letters are a three letter acronym and proprietary name for Nintendo’s main product. I didn’t know it either.
