Rocky
16d parses as 6,2, where the 6 is a State, de-tailed.

…and I think the solution you have for 16d my first thought, and doesn’t fit with 25a!

I see that Rogerm has helped with 16d. With 25 across it’s a 1,4 combination with the 4 letter bit being an anagram

Thanks Rog. I missed the detailed bit. All clear now.

Thanks Fed. For me a tough one but enjoyable nonetheless. I struggled to parse a lot of these for quite a while.

FOI the quite obvious 5d. LOI as shown 25a.

COD 24a. Took me a while but loved it when I saw it.

LOI 20d

COD 20d 18d 3d 1d

Doesn't 10ac require "crypto" to be used twice, once as part of the def and again in the wordplay. I don't buy "representation" alone as the definition.
And although there's a good deal of discussion about 14ac no one has queried how "one used" equates to word 1 of the solution.
Perhaps someone could explain?
And the "l" for Lambert seems to be from the "anything beginning with ? will do" school of setting.

Hi quocunque
‘Representation’ as a definition of the solution appears in the online dictionaries I’ve looked at. A ***** of something is a representation of that thing.
‘One’ is the fodder for the first word of 14a, not ‘one used’. ‘Used’ goes with ‘by’.
L refers to a measure of luminance (though the name, together with B, makes me think of a cigarette).

Sorry for the duplication - dodgy signal on Thameslink where the WiFi never works!
