I was delighted to see that you had a clue dedicated to you in the EV on Sunday. And I solved it.

Grunger, I'm sorry - I thought I had replied to this, thanked you for this. I'm trying not to get too blase about clues dedicated to me, I don't want a swollen head.

The pedant in me was horrified at a report in today's Daily Mirror. It was about a murder and said, 'She was reportedly discovered by a carer covered in blood after sustaining at least one serious head wound'. I hope the carer received the urgent medical attention he or she obviously needed - as well as a massive thank you for reporting the (alleged) crime.

I passed a sign earlier today. "Slow Workforce in Road." But the men seemed to be working very hard to me.

I used to wonder exactly HOW I was to do that.

A layby food booth near me used to display a sign:

"Sit in or takeaway toilet"

A few years ago, my local authority issued a wheen of food waste bags with the lettering “Keep Away From Babies and Children: Danger of Suffication”. At the time I was a Board member of a national education body and suggested that the organisation’s risk register should include the possibility that exposure to children might expose staff to the possibility of becoming Muslim mystics…..

I also get irritated when organisations get it wrong, often practice/practise.

I enjoyed the Commonwealth Games but not the TV coverage. I usually love the cycling, but poor commentary, often from the studio. Too many second/third wheels and other rubbish.
