Hi Everyone,
As usual I’m very late to the party but I’m struggling with the southeast corner, specifically 24ac, 19d, 25d. As usual with this setter some very obscure definitions (3 letter idle in 11d, 5 letter threshold in 3d) and I can’t parse 6d although I’m fairly confident it’s an actor who became a politician…

Just got 24ac!

19 is an uncommon word. Defn. "Gap in features".
Parses as 4 (reversed word), 4 (scrambled word).

25 another rare word. Discussed a lot upthread.

6d - Is avoiding anger over actor becoming politician (6)

Although the answer and definition are clear (actor becoming politician), I would appreciate confirmation or correction of my parsing.

My thoughts are that "Is" is referring to 'i' plural (2) with the first 'i' going before the first 2 letters to give a 3 letter term meaning "anger" and the second 'i' going before the final letter which would create a 5 letter word meaning 'once more' or "over".

Is this how you guys parsed it?

This was the only clue where I wasn't totally sure I'd interpreted the wordplay correctly so it's nice to get confirmation.

All done except 25d where CrosswordSolver doesn't know any words with my three crossers. Previous last one was 20a, solved with help from forum.

Very clever theme.

Never heard of 27a but solved his first name and Googled it with "american actor"; he was first hit and we then worked out the clever wordplay
