Definitely a record for me to speed through this enjoyable puzzle but am completely stumped for my LOI 20a.
FOI was 1a as remembered from Thursday. Favourite has to be 27a.

Neville, what is 2d?

8d not a place you necessarily associate with markets. Anagram around French word with a 1 letter square not usually used in crosswords as mentioned by Chris earlier.

@Rocky7 The actor starred in a few films in the 70s based on Edgar Rice Burroughs stories. (One of the few clues I managed to solve in this!)

I've Googled the actor. I loved the clue, but think it's rather unfair. He was never very well known, and died 30 years ago.

My first attempt at this puzzle, and possibly my last!

The actor is my COD. I remember watching him ever Saturday evening, as a lad, (playing the 'vagrant' and then some😉).

As a 10cc fan, a parse would be welcome on 10.

Thank you Chris E and Rocky7. I still have a few unparsed but it sounds like I'm not the only one today.

Hi raffles
10 was my FOI. It's just an anagram, though you need to use letters for 1 0.

Hi Chris - thanks 🤦‍♂️

Clever, given the shared Christian name.

Neither the actor nor the writer is exactly a household name today. I had to google the former (though I recognized the name when told) but know the latter fairly well. The writer is probably best known through a classic film.

Both are clearly included for thematic purposes, see jono's post early in the thread.

Indeed Geeker - and it makes 10a even cleverer.
