As with last week finally finished on Sunday morning. This time due solely to how tough I found it and the number of visits both here and to the puzzle itself. But as ever, I always enjoy a challenge more than a write-in. Just too many obscure words for my vocabulary range. But alongside that, anyone prepared to reawaken the memory of 27a deserves special praise so thanks to Enigmatist for that in particular.

A special mention to the theme as well. To weave that in took some doing and it's why 30a gets my COD vote.

I've enjoyed this one, some new words for me.
A gentle nudge for 13 and 14 would be good as no one else has mentioned these.
I also think I've got 18 but not able to see the parsing

In 13 Arthur is the King. I guessed the relationship, but Wiki confirmed it.
That should give you a nudge to 14 as well.
I haven't parsed 18 either

18 is a double definition. The first (two words) relates to mirrors.

Thanks jono. I'm really not convinced by the mirror thing. I've tried Googling, but Freddie comes up too often!
