Ad free and done. Most of my difficulty was my GK I found out plus I had the wrong first word for 6d which held me up on 5a. Still can't parse 6d even with the right word. Pangakupu doesn't often set the Prize so maybe I was not on the right wavelength today. But I enjoyed it nonetheless.

FOI with a strong start 1a. LOI due to crosser problems 5a.

COD 14a. Clunky but nice. Thanks Pangakupu.

Finished (with major help from Danword) - didn’t enjoy it, too many clues clues where I didn’t understand the parsing.

I'm transatlantic and knew the second word in 5a, though I've heard it more often than seen it in print. I have a math(s) degree and the clue was a write-in, but parsing was far from immediate.

6 has a complex parsing. Container is 4 ["dance" with a letter (or letter "a") removed]. Contents is [3 ("a certain"), 1 ("hint of carnality")].

Hi everyone

Another stinker I think.

I've done more than half and still have to parse a number I've got. Even my synonym book didn't include one for Geometrical study or even geometry. I still can't parse it. Jono I got 17ac, but can't follow your parsing. I'm not sure I have the right answer for the first word in 11ac as I have only one crosser. I couldn't spot the dance in 6d. Having said all that I Have much of north west and south east. Is the definition in 1ac Universe?
Chris I couldn't understand your hint for 18ac. It gave me an unheard of word.

Can I have a hint for 24ac, then I may get the others in the south east. I have K?????G? I can't for the life of me think of former chancellors of the exchequer.

It's not quite as hot as London here, but hot enough for me and my addled brain.

I must go and feed the cat, but I will be back.

Hi roof
24 doesn't start with K. It's a generic Chancellor of the Exchequer (not an abbreviation I've seen).

24 parses as 2 (former) followed by [2 (abbrev for Chancellor of Exchequer) surrounding 4 (suspend)].

Many thanks Rocky. That should help with my last word in the north west. Got it now.

I'd written in 5d wrongly, hence the K, just three more to go now.

Cat fed, I now need to process today's fruit. We have a large crop of loganberries and a smaller crop of raspberries, which I need to freeze.

Well thank goodness I didn't have to parse Kwarteng. Once Geeker put me right, 24ac was easy. I didn't know that definition for Wattle, but Chambers had it. That just left18ac, which took me ages despite Chris's hint. So, all done now. I still can't parse 10ac, but found myself humming Poison Ivy. I guess it's a homophone. I don't know any Maori, so failed to spot any Ninas.

FOI was 14 ac, also my COD. LOI was 18ac - what took me so long?

Fruit processing progressing. Temperature dropping a tad.

I can relax now.
