Those of us with an 11 hour head start over the UK have had considerably longer to ponder. Hints are currently priced at $100 per clue.

While I agree "a" would have been sufficient, Chambers also gives "a certain" as another definition so I'm not too fussed over it

Incidentally, buzzybee, re your response to jono, I for one was not bothered at all by the misdirections. I love a good misdirection. It was the wordiness and clunkiness of some of the surfaces fhar bothered me and slightly marred my enjoyment of the whole.

Thanks, Bren, I agree. I just found some words unnecessary. “Soccer” is another one, “team” would have been sufficient.

Well, I finished it, but I didn't like it. In particular, there's a mismatch to give the last two letters in my LOI, 23a.

2 or 3 I'm not sure of the parsing, but I've lost interest!
