I didn't know the euphemism; at least then I'd have got the answer. Though parsing will require the allusion which I didn't know either.

The three Maori words hidden in the Nina translate as Wind, Three and Stand. I don't think this is a proverb, as Maori always refer to the four winds. I guess PK was just having a little fun.

The only Maori I word I noticed (didn't look hard) is something I recognized from rugby. 🤣

Hi Geeker
Yes that word does appear within the full third word, but I think that is coincidental. The first five letters of that word are a very common prefix.
I was just checking whether the three Maori words are synonyms of three solutions. One certainly is, but I don't see the other two.

As far as I can glean from Google, there are 2 connected Maori words in the unches on one line and the same lower down, one of which is the famous dance.

Hi Brendan. As I tried to say earlier, all 14 unchecked letters in those lines give three Maori words of 3, 4 and 7 letters. I have not been able to connect them with the actual solutions except in one case.

Hi Buzzybee,

Yep. as expected I mistranslated the ones lower dowm. I thought it was the 'dance' followed by a short word but, following your posts, I see now that the lower one is a single word meaning 'stand or 'raise'

I'll be interested to see what Pangakupu actually meant?

I think I’m in Rogissimo’s “grumpy/must be the heat” camp. I enjoyed yesterday’s offering from Tramp more than this.

6d ‘certain’ seems unnecessary.
Not seeing 17a.
The use of ‘me’ in 3d and 23a felt odd. One is inaminate the other plural.

Sorry about your grumpiness Jono. Middle of winter here in Aotearoa (to continue the Maori theme) so a mild 15C.
I think that when you have time to reflect you may find that your objections are in fact subtle misdirections - I feel that is one of PK's trademarks. Just one example - what is often meant by "us" in "give us a break"?
