I think I see what you’re getting at, Brendan, but I’m going to go with coincidence too, as it was the other tunesmith who wrote it.

I have to agree that this was more difficult than they have been of late. Didn’t get my first entry until almost the bottom. I’m voting 6d as COD also.

Hi MPRS, you're right, as usual they're both credited but, as you say, it was the other one who actually penned it

i didn't find it too difficult to finish, but i still don't see the song in my 6d, so i may have that one wrong.

i'm not spotting the "other half" of the first 4 letters in 22d

OK I see 15d now. The "spread round" are included separately.

6d - think old fashioned 45s where 2 songs were included

22d “not half elated” is 2 letters of a 4 letter word

I did have 6d right, but didn't split it for the second meaning.

Wow. I see this forum being busy today. Tough but fair. Some really excellent clues here. I'm about 75% complete but can someone tell me if there is an anagram involved in 11d? I'm struggling to work it out if so.
