Thanks for alerting us to the Fifteensquared post from penumbra. An interesting read. And whilst my use of $ in the 4th silver cell should have been the = that most of you went for, at least it has been acknowledged by penumbra as an “ingenious suggestion” :-) I like the Pentero suggestion Brendan. But am inclined to agree that, in light of penumbra’s comments, it’s probably not cryptic enough. I‘ll keep pondering it and will await the solution with interest.

Hi Merenz,

Kudos on you $ idea - I'd rather have got it wrong but have received a special mention from the puzzle's creator for an "ingenious suggestion" :-)

I'm sure you and Loge are correct that "Pentero" is nowhere near cryptic enough, but I'm just at the "consider any theory no matter how unlikely" stage - I'm currently wondering if it might be in some sort of code, a "dot dot dash" or Playfair type thing, but,so far, not a Charles in sight:-(

Well played! That's brilliant. If that's not it, it damn well ought to be.
