Dylan, for 19 the definition is the first four words, 'handles' is the definition of the six letter words the rest is the wordplay

16) 'apocalyptic horseman' is def of 6 letter word. 'somewhere in London' is def of 12 letter answer
17) This is the thematic answer
18) 'embryonic' is def of 6 letter word. 'China' is def of the 12 letter answer
19) 'handles' is def of 6 letter word. 'Supplier of sensational info' is def of 12 letter answer.

Still can't get 15.

Hi Demeter - I've just crawled over the line myself and looked in to see if anyone else was struggling like I did. I too finished at 15, not helped by the fact it doesn't appear in Bradford that I can see and is missing from QAT. A good starting point is to consider 'e.g. aluminium' - out of line. That should be enough to get you to the appropriate BRB (prefix) entry. Hope that puts you out of your misery!

Thanks s_pugh, but I still can't see it. I presume from your hint that it begins 'meta-', but the only possibility I can see is 'metaphysical', which can't be right (has to contain an R).

finally found an answer to all the rounds. Demeter I think lead is extra so 'the' figures in the wordplay.

Finally finished, after being held up by 19 for ages. Thought this was a superb puzzle, with three levels of difficulty making it possible to get a foothold. Had never heard of the theme. Don’t think I’ve come across eXtent before...hats off, setter, amazing construction!
