Orson, the plural stuff (licences, jobs) was interesting - and I expect I've got it wrong sometimes!

I was reading one of the tabloids online last week. It was disconcerting to learn that Jamie Oliver and his wife had planned to 'renew their vowels'!

Paul, I'd been tempted to say that perhaps you talked TOO proper - the R in Bath, Path and after the W in Drawing, are perfectly normal in parts of the country, parts where they think they're talking perfectly properly!

The homophone works for me. I make cheddar sauce - with 2 Rs. I also have drawring-room with 3 Rs.
