Got half of it done but stumped on 7a. I understand the theme but can't get this one. Any hints? Thanks.

My last 2 posts may make me look as if I'm done with this Genius, hands down. But I'm actually stuck on a whole lot of clues. Sometimes I have ideas for solutions, but can't see any logical parsing or any 9d in them. Worse are the ones for which I don't even have any understanding at all.
Clues such as 1d, 11a, 17d or 21d, among others. Hints, please?

I think I've got 21d now. I find the wordplay very far-fetched

11ac -you'll be hopping mad when you get it
21 - anagram plus a 9dn
Can't think of a clue for 1dn - Greek word

I thought 21 was one of the least far fetched. What you can see if someone has been hung, drawn and quartered.

21- but the answer is a 9 I think. I'm not sure about a few of my answers.

I got the middle letter of 21d by removing "quarters" (in the sense of 9d) from the word "one". Hate it when my mind can't work simply :)
I have the solution for 11a, but I'm hopping mad because I can't make sense of the headgear. But it's ok, I'll wait for the satisfying moment when the penny drops.

the 3 letter word in 11a is a certain type of cap!
