Hello, Elle!
That's him!
Yes, you find out.
I do not know how easy or not it is to get infected, but Jess Ennis seems to have the right idea.
An update on the cycling hoohaa.
An Olympic Association has leaned on British Cycling and told them to get an appeals procedure in place, pronto.
It may be too late for Jess Varnish and Dani King, but it should be helpful in the future.
Jess passed her final exam to become a personal trainer today.
Dani rides in the British Road Race championship tomorrow.

Hi, Rusty!
Our previous posts must have crossed because I did tell you what I had gleaned about Zika transmission. Although I couldn't find a lot.....
I have missed the beginning of "The Somme" programme because a friend phoned, so rather than play catch up, I will watch it from the beginning later.
I don't quite follow what you are saying about the Appeals procedure?
Who is appealing against what?
I thought it British cycling that were at fault?
Is Jess not going to compete in cycle racing any more - but become a personal trainer instead?
Or is this a second string to her bow?
Time for a coffee......

Hello, Elle,
There was/is no appeals procedure in British Cycling for non-selection.
They do a "Chambers" and ignore any plea from an athlete.
They are Lord God Almighty, don't you know, on our money.
Some Olympic Association has told them that is unacceptable, and get an appeals system in place, now!
Why was Emma Pooley chosen for the Rio time trial, when she came 4th behind Hayley Simmonds a couple of days ago?
Does Hayley not deserve an answer from Mount Olympus?
As someone who helps pay for British Cycling through purchasing a Lottery ticket, I would like to know.
I do not know what Jess will to.
I have noticed she is very knowledgeable on nutrition and makes very attractive looking meals, which she photographs and posts on Twitter.

Good morning, Rusty!
We are just back from our morning walk - a lovely day here.
How about with you?
I understand now what you were saying about setting in motion an Appeals System for the cycling association. I think we were at cross purposes.
Let us hope there will be justice done.
I am in now until 4ish, when we shall probably venture forth again with the dog.
Between now and then, I have the Everyman crossword to do, the Athletics to watch, and the programme about "The Somme " from last night to fit in, too, at some stage.
Have you already seen that?
A busy (lazy) day!

Good morning, Elle!
Great day here!
I am busy sorting photos.
The young ones were all out on the randan last night and sent me lots of pictures!
No idea what will happen in the cycling world.
I was reading a "bio" of Hayley Simmonds and was taken aback reading that she has lost 45 kilograms of weight since she came in the cycling world. That is an astonishing amount!
She is doing a degree course at Cambridge in "experimental chemistry", i think it said. Sounds a bit dangerous to me!
I hope to see a bit of the athletics, and the cycling road race championships (Lizzie defending her title) and the France v Ireland football game, and Eurosport is showing the French road race championships, too. I shall be exhausted!
I think the Somme prog can wait until tomorrow.
Aren't recorders great things!

Hi, Rusty!
"Randan"? I had to look it up (although I could hazard a guess!)
I only knew it as some sort of boat.
For someone who said she was going to have a lazy day, I have been impressively active!
I have dusted, hoovered, and put out the washing! (it will now most probably rain)
I have also finished the Everyman crossword, disappointingly easy this week - I've even managed to parse every single clue!
I came across the title of a book about Boris Johnson that I thought I might get.....but now I cannot remember it nor find the reference.
I rather think it was in The Times during the week.......must look for it.....(it may well prove to be very topical!)
Roll on the Athletics.......I shall sit and watch it in its entirety!

Hello, Elle!
Sorry!
I thought randan was in common use.
Similar to gallivanting!
I used to find Everyman on the easy side, too.
No Sunday paper for me these days.
I just watched a clip on Twitter.
Was of a Ryanair pilot addressing the passengers (Ireland football supporters) on the Dublin-Lyon run.
He told them that unless he hears them singing he was turning the plane back! Then he put on his Ireland top and went back to the controls! Was comical!
I have the French cycling on just now.
It is National Championships day across Europe.
Type "Boris Johnson book" into Amazon search box and you should get it.

Hi, Rusty!
It is a biography about Boris that I am after.......I thought that the review that I read sounded interesting and amusing.
I wasn't looking for books written by Boris himself - although no doubt they might prove amusing too!
However your suggestion to look on Amazon ( now why didn't I think of that?) was obviously simpler than ploughing through last week's copies of the Times!
And yes, I have found the book!
Just Boris: A Tale of Blond Ambition by Sonia Purnell.
I shall look further into it later....Athletics has just started..........
Are you going to watch?
