We have had a lovely day out with the family. Baby is a continual delight now that he is alert and interested in all that goes on around him. He laughs and smiles a lot!

Yes, Ms, Sturgeon seems determined to go ahead with a second Scottish referendum. I think some time will elapse though before this happens.
As for Norn Iron? Won't there be division of thought between those who want to remain part of Britain, and those whose overwhelming concern is to stay within the EU?
And Sinn Fein want to call for unity of Ireland.

Yes, there are moves afoot for another Referendum for Independence.
When Cameron and the No campaigners came North they told everyone a No to Independence vote guaranteed us a place in EU.
The country voted No.
And in the EU Referendum every Scottish region voted to Remain.
Now we are on the way out of EU, unwillingly.

Norn Iron is a very difficult one but I hope to see a United Ireland one day.
Not so sure the Republic would want the North back, though.
So, a very eventful day.

Yes, there will be many consequences - some welcome, some not.
There is a lot to sort out, and plenty of time and much patience will be needed.
Not least, we shall all need a new Prime Minister.
There are several possibilities......I think Boris Johnson may well be a favourite.
London voted to "Remain", but this wasn't surprising as there are so very many Europeans living here.
Our own borough only lost the "Brexit" vote by about 1%.
But on a lighter note......
I watched some of Johanna Konta's match against Karolina Pliskova.
Jo was doing very well to begin with and I thought at one point that she might win........but sadly she eventually lost.
She is a very good player though.
It will be interesting to see how she does at Wimbledon.

I only read the briefing from British Cycling.
It gave the riders and nothing else.
And Trotty and Elinor Barker Tweeted that they were excited to be picked.

Update on cycling.
Jess Varnish has just re-Tweeted a Facebook statement from British Time Trial champion, Hayley Simmonds.
Hayley has ripped into British Cycling for their disrespect and lack of professionalism in their selection process for Rio.
Hayley is the reigning champ and only found out she was not selected from rumours and newspapers. British Cycling did not tell her.
She was on the list that the selection would be made from.
The time trial spot is going to Emma Pooley, who has had two races this year! I like Emma, she is a smashing rider, but this is simply unfair.
How many more of the British Cycling girls are going to be treated like this?
Surely somebody should be looking into this!

I really cannot understand where these (seemingly illogical) decisions are coming from?
Surely, if Hayley Simmonds (I must admit to never having heard of her) is the reigning champion, then it would be logical - and sensible - to select her for the team for Rio?
So why wasn't she picked?
And surely it is only common courtesy to tell a competitor whether or not he/ she has been selected?
The individual concerned should not have to find out via other means.
That is disgusting.
And to offer the place to someone less qualified does not make sense.
I know I am speaking here as someone who knows next- to- nothing about the team selection process, but going off what you have been telling me, I am at a loss to grasp the concept here?
As a justifiably irate onlooker, can you not write a letter of complaint?
