Hi Everyone,

Not only does Russia faces a ban from Rio, but after the troubles in Marseilles, Russian hooligans have won their country a suspended sentence of exclusion from the Euro - one more incident and they are sent home !

Tennis at West Kensington is rained off!
Warm and sunny here ...only a few miles way!

The Russians should be sent home now.......never mind a suspended sentence.......what happened to "zero tolerance"?

It might be a big decision to take and a warning is probably the most diplomatic route to take; but I have no doubt that their hooligan will 'perform' again; have you ever heard of thugs taking heed of a warning?

Good evening, Rusty!
What sort of a day have you had?
Did you enjoy the racing at Ascot?
The tennis coverage at Queens was very disappointing, as it rained on and off for a long period over in West Ken. whilst here we were enjoying sunshine for most of the time !
I watched the Wawrinka versus Verdasco match, which was more or less all that was shown in the viewing time.
Surprisingly, Verdasco won - a good match!
Andy Murray went on to beat Steve Johnson (on the Red button), but I watched Eggheads instead!
I expect you are now watching the cycling?........how is it going?

Hello, Elle!
No cycling for me.
Just watch it live.
Racing was good!
A smashing American mare called Tepin won the first race.
She is unbeaten.
I do not know if you would know or not, but in USA many horses run on drugs. Perfectly legal over there. I am not sure if that is the case in all states in the US, though.
That is why we rarely see American horses here in Europe.
Not allowed here.
Pity about the rain spoiling your tennis.
Hello, Pigale!
I read today that the French authorities are deporting many Russian fans when they catch them. Good idea!
In total contrast to the Swedes and Irish who are having a great time together, singing and dancing.
The way it should be!

Elle, you've missed some great tennis. The Gasquet match was tremendous viewing, Murray v Mahut was thrilling and the Kyrgios v Raonic match was fast and furious. Play in the last match stopped only 5 minutes ago,due to the darkness falling. I enjoyed the Wawrinka v Verdasco match too,of course!

Hi, Rusty!
I am glad that you enjoyed the racing at Ascot!
No, I had no idea that horses in American were sometimes drugged to enhance their performance!
How barbaric!
If humans - athletes, footballers , whoever - want to do such disgusting things to their bodies, then that is their personal decision, but drugging should not be allowed to happen to animals.
I am horrified and outraged!!
How can that be permitted to happen?
Don't you think it is terrible?

Malone, sorry, I have only just seen your post.
Fortunately, I did manage to watch the replays of the Gasquet match, shown on BBC2 when live tennis was suspended because of the rain.
So at least I didn't miss that!
I tried later (after Eggheads!) to access the remainder of the tennis via the "Red button", but 301/ 302 didn't work for me?
I'm going to stamp on my Freeview box in a temper......

Elle, tonight's tennis on the Red Button was on 601 - don't ask me why! It's usually 301 or 302, as you said, but not today. I don't know if you're able to call up your EPG (Electronic Programme Guide), which lists what's on, but scrolling through that shows which 'spare' channels are being used.

Malone, thank you for that - I have never heard of the EPG!
but shall check it all out tomorrow.
You have given the Freeview box a reprieve!!!

Elle, I'm glad the Freeview box itself wasn't to blame. On my remote control, I have a 'Guide' button - pressing this shows what's on now, on all channels, and what's coming up (for days ahead). I think you must have something similar as that's what I need to access when I want to record something. I occasionally scroll through it just to see the bizarre programmes that are on some of the random channels.
