Hello, Elle!
Yes, I see a bit of rain in Yorkshire for the cycling.
Hope they all stay safe!
My son took me to Perth to see someone.
We were there most of the morning.
So, you have a goldfish sitter? Why not, indeed!
Finished my puzzle.
Was a good one, included a port I had not come across before.

I've seen a couple of spectular crashes in the Men's race, rusty - both got up and continued, though. I'm surprised the race wasn't stopped, the conditions were so bad!

Hello, Chris!
Loved the second one!
Be a bit of road rash, I imagine, though..
A marshal at the large puddle would have been an idea!

Hi, Rusty!
My daughter phoned on her way to the railway station, but had to ring off and make a run for it, because of the very heavy rain !
I watched the video clip of the cycle racing that Chris posted.......
It looked very dangerous to me.
Dreadful road conditions.
I think this terrible weather is apparently all down to Hurricane Humberto?
Yes, my friend and neighbour always has the fish whenever we are away...
I think though that she feels under a bit of pressure these days because of his advanced age!
You have obviously been more successful with today's puzzle than I....
I still have three to do.
I am not giving up just yet though!
Inspiration may still strike!
I liked 1a: butchery; and 25a: weedkiller .
Latakavia is a new port to me...and I didn't know that "sherd" is a variant spelling of "shard", until I consulted Collins.
I am waiting on a delivery of cat litter from my local pet shop......

Hello, Elle!
A bit rainy here, too.
Is it a London station that your daughter commutes to?
Not very good conditions at Harrogate, but the same for everyone.
I don't think any of the girls went down today, though.
I like the terrain around Harrogate, great for cycling.
Not heard of Humberto!
I liked 3d in the puzzle!
Me too, with "sherd"...and I found it in Collins!

Remarkable performance by the American woman - a minute and a half quicker than second in about 35 minutes!

I was convinced one of the Dutch girls would win.

Good evening, Rusty!
Yes, my daughter commutes from Cannon Street to London Bridge, and from there either directly home, or to the nursery to collect YB.
It varies depending on her husband's schedule.
She usually phones me as she leaves the office , so that she can talk walking to the railway station, and then for the duration of the train journey, or until she loses the phone connection.
We normally get about an hour's conversation.
Yes, 3d....Rock Hudson, and the Hudson River.
I love the old Doris Day and Rock Hudson films!

Hello, Elle!
Heavy rain here now.
That's a fair bit of travelling your daughter does each day!
I am sure you are delighted to hear from her each day.
And it will make her journey go in quicker, I think.
I liked Rock Hudson and Doris Day!
A good clue, too.
