Hello, Elle!
They may move, but I do not know much about it, yet.
Not my business!
I can't remember your clues.
No paper today.
But from memory,
11a, is "e remit ic". I don't know where the "e ic" comes from, though.
19d, is "Po lent a". I think that's an Italian food. Porridge?
21a is "ex (T)emplar".
19d is "lunate" "loon ate".
I am not certain what it means, but a "lunette" was the curved frame thing that held your neck in place on the guillotine.
Is that OK?

Rusty, for 11 A the 'e ic' is actually Cie, which is French for 'company', like we have 'inc' for 'incorporated'. The 'in recession' makes it reverse, so e ic with 'remit' inside.

Good heavens, Malone!
How did you know that!
It is new to me.
Thank you very much for your input!

Thanks, Rusty, it's just a random piece of information that I picked up somewhere - goodness knows when - and it's stayed with me. It's lodged somewhere in my brain, alongside 'usw', the German equivalent of 'etc' - I've never got to use that one!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, thank you, that is great!
I can follow your reasoning, but would never have got there on my own...at least not till the proverbial cows come home!
Those four were very difficult clues for me!
And "eremitic" and "polenta "are new words to me!
You will miss having your son so close, were he to move.....but maybe, hopefully, he will still be fairly near by.
It is quite a business moving house.
My elder daughter and son-in -law have had their house on the market for several weeks now.
They have had a few viewings, but so far no offers.
I think the isolation (no bus service) cannot help?
I have yet to watch "Eggheads" which I recorded earlier.....but first, a coffee!

Malone, well done on "cie"!
Thank you, that is new to me.
"Usw" is "und so weiter"........and so on.

Hello, Elle!
In fairness to yourself, Elle, those were unusual words to find.
You are doing fine.
Today's setter seemed to favour less well known words.
I have never seen "lunate" written down.
I knew polenta and was fairly sure it was Italian porridge.
I don't really associate Italians with porridge!
My son won't move too far away, but just now I can see his house from my front window, so that will change!
There are those who like isolation, too.
Not for me, though.
I like to be handy for shops and things.
But we are all different!

Elle, thanks for the 'und so weiter'. My German's reasonably good as I have spent quite a bit of time in the country.

Rusty, I think we all accumulate random bits and pieces of information. Indeed, I've seen you mention things here and there and thought to myself,' oh, I never knew that. ' For me the problem is often retrieving this info!

Hello, Malone!
I agree.
We all have odd facts rattling about in our heads!
There is quite a bit to learn on a lot of threads on this forum, I think.

Thanks, Rusty. I sometimes find it infuriating when I feel I should know something - something that I probably did know at one time - but it's somehow been wiped from my brain! Other people - my husband, for one - seem able to retain lots of seemingly meaningless bits and pieces that come in useful one day. And yes, it's interesting - and educational - at times on the Forum.

Hi, Rusty!
I have just been catching up on an "old" episode of "Casualty"!
Just one more to go now, before I am up-to date.
Oh, well that is good if your son will still stay relatively near to you
But yes, you will miss his being as close as he is at present!
We get used to our current situations.
My husband occasionally suggests our down- sizing......or even moving out of London.....
But we are reasonably near family here; our younger daughter and son are not too far away.
We have friends within easy range, and good neighbours in the street.
The doctor, dentist , local hospital and shops are all within relatively easy reach
And there is a choice of local transport.
All this is reassuring as one grows older, isn't it?
I am all for staying put!
Fine outside.......time to let the dog out for a last run around and "toilet" visit!
