Good morning, Elle!
Fine morning here, so far.
I do not know your serial "Bay", but I rarely watch TV programmes.
My default channel is the BBC News channel!
Think you are best keeping out of the builders way, if you can.
Is your birthday party local, or is their travelling involved?
I think I mentioned getting one of my blood tests repeated?
Well, they have told me the repeat test was "perfectly normal".
So, heading out now for my paper and an apple pie!

Update, Elle!
My previous post at 7.39, is showing on the main page but was not showing when I opened the thread.
I edited my settings to "newest" first, and it WAS there.
Seems to be a glitch in the system!

Rusty, your latest post showed 22 of 21 before I logged in. After I logged in, it corrected itself. Very odd.
I am continuing with my help for the caterpillar invasion. It is a serious problem, involving removing a whole deimated Box hedge.

Good morning, Cerasus.
Very odd, indeed!
The "missing" posts, I've concluded, should be the first post at the top of a new page.
When the next post arrives, the "missing" post takes its rightful place at the top of the page.
There has to be a link between the "wonky" numbers and the "missing" posts.
Seems to be a big job with the hedge and the caterpillars.
Best of luck with it!

A Very Good morning to you, Rusty!
It is a pleasant morning here, but chilly as yet.
The builders were hereat 8am, just before I set out for my walk.
We shall not be in their way, never fear.....but because they are friends, too, they tend to drink their coffee or tea with us, and chat.
That is good news indeed about your blood test!
It is a nuisance that you are still having problems with the numbering and timing of posts on the "oldest posts first" setting.
I am fine and have no worries at all on my settings.
Maybe best to let Norah know about the glitch ....because .she cannot "mend" what she doesn't know is "broken"!
The "tea party" is local......... so easy enough to get there.
It starts at 6 pm, so I am assuming it will just be for a couple of hours over the teatime period?
But who knows?
I hope you are enjoying your apple pie...or is for "later"?

Good morning, Elle!
All's well with the builders! Very good!
My GP had already told me that my blood test was slightly elevated and nothing to worry about, and I presume this one is better.
The secretary told me it had been reviewed by a GP and was "quite normal".
My nurse said she would 'phone if there was a problem, and she did not call, so I 'phoned out of curiosity.
The numbering and missing posts were a bit of a mystery but not a problem, so I'll leave Norah in peace!
Worse things happen at sea!
Ah, it's a tea party you are bound for.
There is no plan for the apple pie, I'll eat it over the next day or so.
It's quite a big one, and was only a £1.
Good value!
Miss ATW is coming to see me after work, and may fancy a slice, but may not, too, as she is calling after she goes to the gym, and may avoid things like apple pies!
Who knows!!

I am trying to make a rainbow cake for a six year old's birthday party, each layer to be a colour of the rainbow. The photo with the recipe looks lovely. I started to make the first two colours according to the book, adding to half the mixture a whole tube of violet dye. Now, the colour of cake mix made with butter and whole eggs is? Yellow. The colour violet is made from? Red and blue. Red, blue and yellow make?? Brown.
Tried the blue dye on the other half. Blue and yellow make?
I couldn't think what to do and then I had a mental picture of my mother baking. She used Trex, which was white. I expect then it was lard; now it is veggie and not hydrogenated either. I found you can replace egg yolk with whites, yoghurt, extra bicarb and vinegar (yuk, but needs must). So I have. The colours came out clear and the raw mix tasted OK, so here's hoping....

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, good progress is being made!
The builders have restored the damaged coving, and have now gone home for their lunch.
One of the advantages of living nearby!
This afternoon, they are to undercoat the new ceiling, and affect some repairs to the architrave of the patio door, which was also affected by the flood.
I have had a relatively leisurely morning, as there has not been a lot that I can do......
My lounge looks as though I am about to hold a public meeting......with eight dining chairs lined up in rows across the floor!
Our seven foot dining table is stood on its side in the kitchen......out of harm's way!
We are getting there........
The surprise "tea party" will be light relief at the end of the day!
(At least I shall not have to cook dinner!)
Have you done your crossword?
There are three clues that I cannot do.........…

Hello, Ros!
Goodness, a "rainbow" cake sounds a formidable task!
I hope your granddaughter is suitably appreciative of granny's efforts!
I would not have the faintest idea of how to go about such a project....
But I expect the end result of your cake making will be brilliant as always.
I remember your gingerbread house.

Hello, Elle!
Your builders appear to be going great!
Will they finish the work today?
It was raining here earlier but it is a fine day now.
Yes, I finished my puzzle earlier.
Was a good one today.
I wonder which you are struggling with?
I'll help if you want, but maybe you'd like to have a break from it and try later?
I have resisted my apple pie until my granddaughter arrives later!
