Hello, Elle!
Roll on Monday when it's all finished!
It is good to have a break from a puzzle if you get stuck.
That's what I find, anyway.
Now 12, The fellow is "he", "is" in clue, surrounded by "Attic", which is to do with Greek.
"Atheistic". Not sure what it means!
14, is reversed in your clue, Elle.
"Etagere", some sort of stand, I think.
It is Miss ATW who is arriving, after she comes from the gym.
She was going to bring food for me, but I told her I have plenty.
I am looking forward to seeing her.
She has just landed a new job.

Hi, Rusty!
Ah, thank you, Rusty.
I could not see either of those.
"Atheistic" means "not believing in God"......
I do not think I would have termed that a "rationalist philosophy"?
And "etagere" is a new word for me!
Google tells me that it is a piece of furniture with open shelves for displaying ornaments.
So now we know!
Yes, sorry, you had said that it was Miss ATW who is coming to visit you....
I suffered a senior moment there!
Well done on her new job!
What does she do?

Thank you, Chris.
I am not at my best today......too much (necessary ) banging!
I cannot think straight......

I'm pleased for you that the banging seems to be having the desired effect, elle!

Hello, Elle!
I agree. Setter stretching it a wee bit, perhaps.
I did look up the meaning, though.
I have seen "etagere" a few times in puzzles before.
I am not quite certain what Miss ATW will be doing until she tells me later.
But it is with a company which trains people for working offshore on the oil-rigs.
Where she fits in, I don't know.
I'll tell you when I find out!

Hi, Rusty!
The builders have now gone home.......having removed all their dust sheets ...and also mopped the kitchen tiles, and hoovered the dining room carpet!
Wonderful !
I must now go and get ready for the 70th birthday celebration.....
We were all warned by the host not eat any lunch, so I am feeling hungry!
Yes, I shall look forward to hearing all about Miss ATW's new job.
Have a lovely time with her....
Talk later!

Hello, Chris!
Yes, our builders are great! All is progressing really well.
We are very pleased.

Good evening, Elle!
Well done the builders!
Hope you enjoy your party.
Miss ATW is away now.
She will be doing PR work and web design in her new job.
She is looking forward to it.

Good evening, Rusty!
We are home again... somewhat later than I had expected!
The tea party was a great success.
The host had gone to a lot of trouble......and he had prepared a delicious range of food.
The guest of honour had no idea that it was a "party", when lured along there by his wife.
So he was pleasantly surprised!
Miss ATW's new job sounds very interesting.
Where will she be based?

Good morning, Elle!
Seems a dry day out.
No sign of Storm Hannah in these parts.
Seems to be a splendid party you were at!
Miss ATW will be based near Aberdeen, then the company is moving here in the next few months.
I got my usual email today from The Times.
One of the offerings was this anagram which appealed to me!
"Loonies far up the Thames"
"The Houses of Parliament"
I liked that!

Good morning, Rusty!
It was raining here when we went for our walk....and very chilly, only 6C.
Back to Winter!
I liked what I saw of Aberdeen, when I attended a Symposium there, some years ago.
The beaches were lovely and seemed to stretch for miles.
Although Miss ATW will not be there for very long, if the company is moving to Dundee within a few months.
Yes, I liked the anagram!
The Houses of Parliament as a building is very impressive..... as a Government , not quite so ......
And probably at present deserving of the anagram!
What are you up to today?
