Thanks Malone. That didn't come up on my Chambers app. 26ac - check definitions of "snag"

I have a completed grid;

I have the theme, and I have all of the extra letters.

I have found 20 of the 30 cells to be highlighted (the two numerical references and the diagonal)

I am struggling with the last rten cells and the meaning of the last 4 extra letters. Any help welcome...

Thanks, saddleworthian and cruncher,

I have the 'spare' letter as T, and I'm still not seeing how the wordplay goes here.

Spare letter is W

"...snag, for example" is the clue, giving the answer TINE

Twist is the wordplay, giving the spare letter W

Saddleworthian - if you have identified the work, you should be able to resolve your problems, , but from what you have said, I think you are partly on the wrong track.

SaliSaturday. The extra letters spell out three separate instructions. 26ac is the beginning of the second instruction
