I'm afraid I have no idea at all about 14D. Any hints?

And I assume that 19D consists of the first three letters moved to the end. But, despite many hints, I can get no further with this.

And I still don't understand the significance of the two middle letters in 5A.

Pendragon..

14D defn is "muscular quality", the component parts are all pretty standard.
19D the modification isn't the first three
5A - doesn't really work in my accent, how would the Queen pronounce "any"

14ac - the definition is "muscular quality". The first 4 letters move to the end.
19dn - the definition is "having no zip" in the sense of listlessness. You're right about the first 3 letters going to the end.
The 2 middle letters in 5ac are simply a homophone (ie "in recitation") of the word any.

My post crossed with ixion's, and I see I made a mistake with 19dn. It's not the first 3.

Sorry, 19dn was an oversight.

Thanks, ixion and peterm. 5A was my last one in (I was trying in vain to find homophones for 'diseur', as in 'raconteur'!)

I was about to clarify the moving letters for 19D for Pendragon.

Thanks peterm and ixion.

For 5A I hadn't realised how important a little word was.

And I'm not too happy about 19D as I expected the whole word to be an adjective, not an abstract noun (as somebody suggested it was). I suppose it's OK though.
