Hi Ladies/Gents,
I'm really struggling with this one - mostly because I can't get the all-important 11a.
I've got a few of the others, but it's impossible to proceed without 11a. Would one of you be so kind as to give me a hint.....at least whether I'm looking for 'showing off' or 'whistling'.
Thank you in advance.

I can't quite get a convincing answer for 7dn. I've got a word that means dances, which includes 2 letters for special, which also adjusts nicely for the theme. But I can't see the "girls" bit of it. Anyone any ideas?

This is the one that worries me too peterm(though I've already submitted it), I've taken the girls to be the plural of the modified bit.

I think I've got the wordplay. I was looking in a very old version of Chambers, which threw me. The 2008 version gives a 3-letter "girl or young woman, esp. a girlfriend" which reverses to fit the theme. I'm happy now.

Yes, Pendragon, Irish slang according to Chambers.
