Syzygy...your letters are correct for 19D as is your presumed defn, ie "having no zip" so you're virtually there.

...and for 4D you're looking for a popular holiday resort.

Thanks ixion.

Re 19D: did you mean "lethargic" or no "0"?

4D: is it British?

As I said to dizoz, all the Brits are in bed.
What part of the world are you in?

BTW, did you find an anomaly in the movement in 2D?

Thanks.

Got 4D, though there seems to be an "I" unaccounted for. Not going to worry about it. (-;

Now for the other one. Still eludes me.

Not English, but awake.

It always amazes me the way people are stuck on the (very) few I found easily. 4D was the first I did, although the movement wasn't clear until I'd done my second, 11A.

12D is giving me problems though. I worked out what the straight answer was and moved three letters, which fitted with the two across clues, but then I worked out 25A, which meant adjusting the name and then 15A didn't fit any more. Is the letter between 12D and 15A an A, please?

I'm struggling with left side, specifically NW corner, but thanks to syzygy for hints on 9A, which had floated in and out of my head at one point, but which I couldn't fit in, though the penny has now dropped.

Pendragon: I am the same when it comes to clues others find hard, and vice versa. I had 12D in fairly early, and you're right with the A at the intersection of 15A and 12D. It's one of the more unusual names, and a four-letter one. I can't see what else could work, in fact, with the other checking letters.

I think I have 7A, but the definition bit makes no sense to me!

Thanks, Perec.

So, 15A isn't UNSMART then!

As is often the case, I now understand 7A, as soon as I posted the last query (uncommon meaning of 'near')

No, 15A is definitely not UNSMART. The higher education and business bits of the clue are 3 and 4 letters respectively... It's a neat little clue when the penny drops, and the '&lit' aspect is a sentiment I fully endorse!

For 15A I have -N-M-A- and there's not a lot that will fit that!
