Rather late to the forum but if anyone is still here could you help me parse 22A? I don’t think it’s been discussed yet. The solution is pretty clear but I can’t begin to parse it. No one has mentioned it yet I think so I must be missing something obvious!
22a - 1 letter "Thailand" the 5 letter "grotesque" (this is a common word but its meaning here is Shakesperian) and that goes around single letter "runs" - definition is "type of sex"
Apparently Sting and his partner were vocal practitionesr of it, often singing its praises.
The 5 letter word ususally means 'trick' or 'caper' and Shakespeare used it to mean "A grotesque pageant", however, Chambers also says that its archaic meaning was "grotesque".
