Thanks for all the wisdom here! I think I’ve got all the answers, but wouldn’t have got 8d, in particular, (a word I didn’t know) without Brendan’s hint.
22a has me stumped though, as to the parsing… I’m confident I have the answer (it being, I think, the only word that fits) - with the def being the last word of the clue. And I can get the first two letters from “Regularly take free”, but I can’t see how “measures of wood cut as” gives the rest. Please, what am I missing?

Just a (not very common) word for a measure of cut wood. US and Canada, which I suppose whould have been indicated.

Hi everyone

Started late and had lots of breaks as I found my self falling asleep in the sun.

I've done about three quarters, but I'm stuck on the NW. Unlike many of you I don't have 1d and despite listening to Round the Horne I can't remember what will give me 2d. There are a few outside the NW corner I haven't got, mostly referred to in the thread above. I don't understand a number in 26ac, though I have the answer.

So far CODs are 10ac and 24d

Can I have a hint for 9ac to help me break into the NW.
