Thanks lippy,

That's pretty much how I felt when I realised the type of "number" in 26a 🤷‍♀️

Happens.

For COD, I will go with 7d.

Frances McDormand is a fav of mine.

Enjoyed this one.
2d has definitely come up in recent times and it’s in Collins. It’s often quoted s the source for other words.
Some innovative clueing e.g. 6d, 8d.
Imogen has been rather prolific in recent days in his various guises including Vulcan and Fieldfare.
All good fun.

Lots of fun. Favourites 1d, 2d (if "Julian and Sandy" means anything to you, you will have heard it), and 24d.

Despite hint, still not sure about 8d. I currently have a fish, but that doesn't seem to match the hint.

Like chrise I listened to Round The Horne so 2d went straight in. Good Prize puzzle.

Very enjoyable crossword with a few clues (all mentioned earlier) that took a while to work out. But, despite the hint given, I just can't see 8d.
