Thanks, rocky. I didn't know (or recall) that. Growing up, my mother didn't like to cook, and family dinners often featured prepackaged frozen "chicken Kiev stuffed breasts". But the garlic apparently escaped me.

Should have added "...growing up in the early '70s..."

Any tips for parsing 8a. Have last 5 letters parsed but can't get first 3. Now know more about Miles Davis than I need to!!

I think the first two letters are the God, the next is an abbreviation...

M is a single letter abbreviation for mile or miles. The capitalisation is just for misdirection
