Hi Rocky
25a parses as 2,4 and the definition is the last word.

So as predicted Rog I was way off. I shall have another look.

All done. Thanks Rog. Got 25d straight after last post then 25a was LOI and a great clue in fact. 5d was the only weak link as I feel the abbreviation is a bit off in order to make the clue work. And I'll not mention 10a for obvious reasons.

Thanks to Brockwell as ever for a fine workout.

FOI was themed 8a. COD, there are many, but I'm going for 30a.

The abbreviation in 5d seems perfectly fine to me and is supported by Chambers.

Thanks jono. I was clearly being unfair having not looked hard enough - I only came across a two letter abbreviation.

I agree Rocky, don't mention 10A which is definitely thematic, especially after last Sunday. All finished now and a most enjoyable way to spend the morning either side of a walk at Sand Bay in bright sunshine.

OK Jono I also stand corrected. Not being of a scientific bent since I did A levels I should have checked because I had not heard of that. Much like 26d which was also a term I had not heard.

26d was in a fairly recent puzzle, but spelt incorrectly!
