Excellent Rosa Klebb puzzle in the FT.

Definitely tough for me too, and there were certainly a few “across the pond” instances that I had to look up. Oddly, I didn’t have any trouble with 5d though. But I’m wondering if I have 16 right. I don’t think what I entered is all that obscure, though maybe not in everyday use.

If the first four letters of your solution to 16 form a thematic, then you almost surely have it right. I don't recall encountering the solution word before, or perhaps I'd long since forgotten it.

Ah, thanks geeker. I did indeed have it wrong.

And on the topic of the theme, as usual with Brockwell, the thematic items are very cleverly woven in. I looked back again and found even more.

Morning Rog, once again arn't crosswords weird. This is my quickest prize for ages!! Cod several but probably 6d for the same reason.
