Thanks to rog for the tip on 9. Rather obscure? Never would have guessed.

And now I take it that 2d parses 2,4, which is what would be contrary to what the UK version of Hitlump says.

That just leaves 11 for me to parse. I had the answer last night, thanks to Chambers, but still don't see how it works in the light of day.

Still don't get it. The cryptic grammar seems wrong and what gives the "one"?
And where's the indication that the "you" is French?

Having popped back in after a few hours away to see how things are going, I’d just like to say that a bit of a beast, like today’s Prize (as I think we’re pretty much all agreed it is) brings out the best in this community. I love the fact that requests for help are invariably answered with the sublest of nudges, with the result that everyone can feel satisfaction either from being helped to work out a solution or from providing that help.
I may be stating the obvious here, but I do think it’s worth saying: what a good forum this is!
