Finally the light has dawned!! It is a shame though that, for the sake of both getting the three words correct and symmetry, that one of the originators has been decapitated.

Could I suggest a (precise) rereading of the preamble? It might make you happy.

You've lost me HW7, there is nothing in the preamble that I can see that explains the (necessary) decapitation of that individual - even though he is revealed IAW the instructions.

Ah, apologies; you’re quite correct. Foolishly posting from memory whilst out.

No problem HW7, I re-read it several times and thought that I was just being a bit dim.

The gridfill was a pleasure, the endgame almost brilliant but spoilt a little for me by the too consciously clever instruction.

As a fairly novice solver I found this one to be a really enjoyable grid.

Challenging enough (not a chance without Chambers), but not too difficult.

Even found the end game to be fairly straightforward once I’d cracked what was going on.

Couldn’t have forgiven myself if I hadn’t have completed this one. The creators are permanently on the curriculum where I live!

I'm just about to start this. Would it be fair to ask if the blank cells are also symmetrical? My reading of the preamble suggests that to be the case.

If I have overstepped I would be happy with a non-commital response!
