Hmm. That's got me puzzled.
2d is a synonym for hatch plans plus a letter. The definition is Scottish. It isn't a word I knew.
28d is really tricky. It's an abbreviation (2 letters, not in Chambers) inside a synonym for supply. The definition is alluded to in the whole clue.
The missing two misidentifications should then appear.

Very enjoyable, but I'm stuck on one clue: 31d. It seems to me that the initial unmodified answer would have to take the form FN_S, which I can't make sense of. Can anyone give me a shove to help me over the line?

What you have is correct. A Latin dictionary would help, although it is also in Chambers.

As a novice solver (think I’ve managed maybe 8 full completions over the past couple of years) I sometimes struggle more with the Listener terminology than some of the clues.

Found this one to be one of my favourites. I found the theme, identified and corrected the misidentifications, and highlighted the subject.

Couldn’t solve 28 but got everything else.

But, can someone please explain (or hint at) what’s meant by “resolve ambiguities”, as I’m assuming this is what is stopping my final grid being made up entirely of real words and phrases. Are these ambiguities relating to this particular theme/puzzle, or is this a general Listener instruction that I’m unaware of?

Apologies if it’s a daft question but I’m completely stumped!

Thanks.

Well done. The 'resolve ambiguities' is in respect of eg 21d, which is entered jumbled. With 2 unches and two different letters left, there are 2 options as to which letter goes where. A combination of the end game and making sure you end up with real words tells you which of the two letters to put in each cell.

Started out thinking it was too easy, but soon got bogged down.

When I had enough letters to google, I was delighted to find it was the first line of a work I loved, and knowing what was required from then on in made it possible to unravel some quite tricky knots. I liked the indirect nature of many of the extra letters.

Adelji, in 28 parts of the clue are doing double duty as definition and word play. Read it as “What requires doses of reptile antivenom” AND “reptile antivenom in supply”.

22a - Def is first 4 words, wordplay is anagram of straps round ox, once you drop the right extra letter.

18 - unusual word meaning excited. You need a 4 letter 'stud', drop the first letter and surround it with a 4 letter word for rushed.
