Lumen, 12d is a word for costs around a single letter. If you have the first line of the work you can resolve which type of clue it is - that's what I did.

Difficulty in the SE corner with all else done.
Are the final entries for 28d and 19d respectively in any way connected with Indian menus and nags?
Enjoyed this very much. Thanks to Apt

I have four of the six, easily visible, but the third and sixth do not seem to be there. What am I missing?

Still struggling, also, with 2d, is it in Chambers? and 28d , ditto!

Thanks

They’re not necessarily stand alone entries

I'm almost there but 1d Fred's wife's mother supporting decision mostly (5) is putting up a great deal of resistance!

I'm thinking the obvious Les Dawson caricature, which is jumbled and can fit 11a and 16a, but clashes with 20a. I'm pretty sure those three across are correct, can anybody nudge me in the right direction please?

Also cannot parse 26a Small bank trade union no longer capable of effective action after leader's dismissal (6).

Many thanks in advance!

Hi Piffleworthy,

1d - Fred's wife is the definition (you're right about a TV character but think way, way, way back!) - 4 letter "decision" minus last letter/'mostly' + 2 letter "mother"

Answer is pre alterations, of course.
