Please help me in parsing / solving this cryptic clue -
"After swallowing pride, show-off consumes old porridge (8)"

Porridge slang for jail, so answer is also slang for jail.

Show-off =anagram of SHOW, containing (separately) a 3-letter word for PRIDE as well as the standard one-letter abbreviation for OLD.

think the definition is supply, as an adverb, and a four letter blooming flower surrounds a definite article. But I may be wrong
