The clues...
Requests for help should normally include the clue itself, the number of letters in the answer, and details of any you already have. Any additional information or special instructions, common in Listener puzzles, should also be included.
Hints only, please, no answers.

The theme...
Help with the theme may also be sought here. The help given should be fairly gentle - just a nudge, a pointer in the right direction, and certainly not anything that would spoil the puzzle for others. Any posts which, even inadvertently, reveal too much of the theme are likely to be removed. If you feel a post does say too much, please let Norah, Admin, know - by clicking on the Report This Post link. Norah usually errs on the side of caution - anything at all iffy is likely to be deleted.

The Listener is a unique puzzle and should be treated with respect.

I've got 6 answers, but it looks like a stinker. As someone recently said, if there is no interlocking of answers, can it truly be called a crossword?

One hope, which I suspect is not the case - can we assume the first letter of each of the answers goes in the top left of its 2x2 block?

As there are no entries less than 3 letters, is it not possible to start by filling in a few bar lines? Or have I misunderstood?
Also in the second paragraph, 'i found that the six four-letter entries'...which six does it mean?
Is 'the' intended?

I nearly didn’t bother when I read the preamble but solved all A clues straight off. I don’t think you can make assumptions about where the word starts in the grid but I agree we can start putting in a few bars straight off.

I assume “the 6 four letter entries” are the 4 letter solutions in the empty grid?

Tried entering some and fell on my face immediately. Hmm……?

If my reading of the preamble is correct, then this seems to be a set of six unrelated jigsaw puzzles. If so, then I agree that it can't properly be regarded as a "crossword puzzle".

simond9x: there are more than 6 four-letter spots in the original grid.

Terrific puzzle. Very different challenge, but great fun. Cheers, Paddock

Bamboozled by G. Despite having all six 4-letter words none of them seem to have any connection to clues in G. Perhaps a new day will shed light.
