Quick Google and it looks a lovely pub.
What’s the Guinness like? 😉
I’m tempted to check it out next time I’m over.

There was a bit of a weird "ring" coincidence that occurred.

Our food waiter had a North American accent and we were trying to guess where he was from. Other than the fact that we were certain he wasn't from New York or Bosto, we were pretty much clueless. Turns out he was Colorado and he said moving to this area (Wapping) was the 2nd best decision of his life, his first being marrying his sweetheart.

Then I noticed that he had a tattoo of a ring rather than an actual one on his ring finger. Me being me, I had to ask him about it. It turns out he thinks there is much risk that he might lose his actual ring at work but always wants to be without something, hence the tattoo.

Five minutes later a young couple, early twenties say, were messing about with each other as they were leaving when I sa something land near them on the ground. They were oblivious to this so I quickly got up to have a look and it was a diamond ring. I called them back and handed it to them and they just took it, turnned around and started to walk back out. I was speecless, and then just as I was deciding whether I should say something or not, they both turned around and shouted "thank you" across the dining hall.

So, there you go, two ring stories for the price of one:-)

My nephews were drinking Guiness as was my brother-in-law. I'm not much of a drinker to be honest and just had 2 small lagers, but I have had the Guiness there and it was lovely.

PS: While at school we went on day trip to the Guiness factory in ... somewhere in London, Wembley maybe but I'm not sure. we were all given these little miniature bottles as momentos.

PPS: Over from where, if you don't mind me asking?

That would have been Park Royal, Brendan, only a couple of miles south of Wembley. Sadly closed in 2005 and demolished the following year

Ah, lovely.

My Dad was from Clonmel in Tipperary but moved to Waterford when he was about 20. My Mum was born and raised in Wexford, a little place called Camolin between Gorey and Enniscorthy. It won't be a surprise if you've never heard of it, the houses don't even have door numbers! You just write Mrs Murphy, Main Street, Camolin or whatever and the postman will deliver it without fail.

We went there every single year on holiday and I absolutely loved it. Once, when I was about 4yo, we were getting ready to leave and my Mum and Auntie were on the doorstep saying their goodbyes, I came up with the brilliant plan of hiding in the closet under the stairs so they'd forget me and I could live happily ever after (sounds foolproof Bren). Well, I was in there for what seemed like hours and nobody came to get me - success I thought. Victorious I emerged from the close only to see the still standing there saying their parting words - seriously, how long can it take to say 'googbye'!?

When I was bit older, around 11 or 12, my friends and I would hitch a lift to Courtown which you've probably heard of, if not it's a seaside resort on the east coast.

Can you imasgine pre-teens being allowed to hitch a lift in England? How I miss those days:-)
