I’ve seen the light. Now I’ve got the answer, I see it is a great clue. It’s also my last one in.

I enjoyed that. Tricky but not too much. A few write-ins, then much head scratching, followed by the rest falling slowly into place.

I spelled the clothing right but the wicked one wrong, initially.

Also, the 'primarily' wasn't missed.

In 6d are the wicked things just the last 3 letters? What do the first 3 syllables contribute to the whole?

Hi Ethereal,

6d - No, the answer is a cryptic definition - the wicked things are what the answer supports. Think what runs through the core and out the top of what goes in the answer.

The wicked things are the things that are supported.

I share the view of those who thought this was a really good crossword. 6d and 19a are brilliant.
Thanks for the forum's help on 13d. I should have got this having seen the National Trust"S Helios last night.

Hi Will, was that the one at Basildon Park?

I agree, those two clues are excellent.

I have to agree with raffles (@ post 13) about 16a and 19a. Both brilliant clues, and I would also add 10a to that.

The spelling here in 25 is common but incorrect. It is named after a place that is spelled the other way.
