Struggling with this, don't know much about the theme.
Hot here in Somerset though!

Been hanging steady at about 30 degrees in Birmingham (86 for our Yanqui friends) all day. Thankfully saw a bit of rain earlier so much less punishing than it has been

Chrise concur with your friends. Mr Ed would have been a brilliant improvement to this puzzle. What an opportunity missed.

I prefer a theme which is either interesting or in GK. This was neither.

I like my crossword to be a challenge and give me a sense of achievement when solved as well as enjoyment. This. failed miserably, boring theme which required too much googling which I don’t mind if I am increasing my knowledge.
