I was originally not going to gripe about Paul, assuming I just didn't have the UK GK. However, now I see a lot of the Brits complaining, so add my voice to the chorus. Ugh. I hate Paul puzzles. But, I'm stubborn and so close to finishing, but 4d has me stumped. A hint to the particular Ed perhaps would help? I was able to get 1 and 7, and confirmed on the Guardian website.

I don’t blame you Darla. 4d is a Guardian editor from the 80s. It’s just one letter, right, inside a current political journalist over here. I asked AI who the American equivalent might be and it said Jake Tapper from CNN.

A friend just looked at my completed puzzle and complained that Mr. Ed, the talking horse, didn't appear!

I finished the crossword but didn't enjoy it at all. Too much use of Google.

We're in the disputed area - the part of Yorkshire that was moved into Lancashire. The locals were incensed, because everyone knows that it rains more in Lancashire than in Yorkshire!
