Apologies. I don’t have the Chambers Crossword Dictionary and was not aware it is a separate publication. All clear now.

Having lived in a certain region, two of the modifications were not too difficult, and it sounds as though several of us have the same SE corner. My only doubt is with the northern part, where I have two words but would have liked one. I've still followed the instructions, though.
By the way, there's nothing to say that entries have to be in a particular dictionary: they just have to be real words.

Hello cockie
‘In all the other clues,’ would eliminate ambiguity. As you say a rich and confusing language

Yes, "all remaining clues..." or "all other clues..." would have resolved the ambiguity; but, as you proceed, the intended meaning does make itself clear.

Finally nearly got there. Have two of the three changes, can't see the long one for now but I'll keep plugging away.

Lots of parsing loose ends. Can't see how the word play works for 20d (does full = roll?), 25a (had the revised answer as my initial answer, which seems to fit the wordplay better to me?) and 26 (no idea on the wordplay).

Found this a slog personally.

Now have the long one and 20d. Thought rotation was part of the definition.

Just 25 and 26 please

25: Definition is the first two words with a change; wordplay is a word reversed omitting a synonym for the last two words.
26: Definition is the last two words, again with a change; wordplay is a synonym for practise 'stripped'. Cleverly, the word to be changed in the definition can also be read as part of the wordplay.
When you say that you've got the long one, do you mean in one word? If so, I need to think again.

Mack, I have the long thematic as one word after the change.

Thanks Mack, they make sense. Should have seen 26, not sure i would ever have seen 25.

I originally had a 2 word change for 1a as well. A relevant temperature followed by a type of the relevant object (4,9) also works in terms of the crossers, but gives the wrong number of changes when combined with the other two.
